What to Know Before Buying a WordPress Plugin – Part 5: How to Upload and Activate a Theme
In Part 4, we covered how to upload and activate a WordPress plugin. Now, let’s walk through installing and activating a WordPress theme to set up your website’s design.
A WordPress theme defines the appearance and layout of your website. Here’s how to install and activate a theme.
Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
Navigate to Appearance > Themes.
Click Add New and browse or search for a theme.
Click Install on your chosen theme.
Once installed, click Activate to apply the theme to your site.
For themes purchased from ThemeForest or other marketplaces, follow these steps:
Download the theme’s .zip
file from the provider.
Go to Appearance > Themes in your WordPress dashboard.
Click Add New and then Upload Theme.
Click Choose File, select the .zip
file, and click Install Now.
After installation, click Activate to apply the theme.
