What to Know Before Buying a WordPress Plugin – Part 6: How to Deploy a Demo
In Part 5, we covered how to upload and activate a WordPress theme. Now, let’s go a step further and learn how to deploy a demo to quickly set up your website with pre-designed content.
Many premium WordPress themes come with demo content that allows you to replicate the theme’s preview design instantly. Here’s how to import and set up a demo on your site.
After activating your theme, navigate to Appearance > Theme Options or a similarly named section.
Look for an option like Import Demo Data or One-Click Demo Install.
If your theme requires an additional plugin to import demos, you’ll be prompted to install and activate it.
Once the demo importer is available, select a demo layout that suits your needs.
Click the Import or Start Importing button.
Wait for the process to complete—this may take a few minutes, depending on the size of the demo.
